H.O.T is a very popular five member South Korean boy band during the mid to late 1990s. Their name is an acronym that stands for “High-five Of Teenagers†and they were formed under the management company of SM Entertainment in the year 1996, only to disband in the year 2001. The group had taken much influence to all the current boy band and girl band of Korean music scene. They were formed by Lee Soo Man who is the head of SM Entertainment in the year 1996. Kangta was the first one who had joined the group when he and his friend were discovered singing and dancing inside of an amusement park. Moon Hee Jun was auditioned and had made it into the group, and then he recommended that Jae Won might be considered so he had auditioned as well and made it to the group. Jang Woo Hyuk had joined after winning a dance contest, and Tony An was originally discovered by Brothers Entertainment in the United States and then he had moved to SM with his friend Andy Lee, who had later pulled out from the company to join Shinhwa. The group had made their debut with their first album, We Hate All Kinds of Violence in the September of year 1996. The said album and their first single, Junsa Ae Hoo Yeh had faced much controversies because some of their tracks was said to be plagiarized others, and lawsuits has been placed against them. They had released their 5th and final album, Outside Castle in September 200. All of their members had taken part in composing the lyrics for their songs. The group had enjoyed all the great success that they had in all of their album, and they were known because of their talent in writing and composing many of their own songs. Additional to that, Moon Hee Jun and Jang Woo Hyuk were also known because of their dancing skills, and their often choreographies for the group routines. In May 2001, their contract with their company was almost up, and as they did not feel that the things that they are receiving from their sales were not enough, the group had decided to disband. The members had then pursued all of their own soo careers as Kangta and Moon Hee Jun were offered another contract from SM Entertainment and the three had fromed their own group namely, JTL. Later on, Jang Woo Hyuk had created his own dancing school called, Newest Academy while in the year 2005, Moon Hee Jun had left the company had created his own naming, PS Entertainment. Tony An had released a solo album and had also created his own company, Tn Entertainment. Later on the year 2005, Jae Won had released his solo album as same as Woo Hyuk. Kangta was recently became the subject of most media after he had expressed that he wants the group to be reunited and make their comeback on the first half of 2011.
