Jewelry is a South Korean girl group. After they had released their first album with such low sales, the group had eventually rose to popularity because of their second album and had reached their commercial peak alongside with their fourth album entitled, Superstar that had gained number one hit for them. After getting into the Japanese market with only limited success, the group had come back with two new members in the year 2008 with the promotion of their hit song “One More Timeâ€. As of the year 2010, Jewelry was said to be the longest running Korean girl group ever that had surpassed even the super group Baby V.O.X.
On the 17th of December, 2009, they had released a repackaged edition of their 6th album that was entitled, “End And†with the single “Love Storyâ€. The song was composed by the same producer of Davichi’s hit song named, “Hate Though I love You†and had shown the feelings of Seo In Young and Park Jung Ah’s leaving. On the 17th of November, Star Empire Entertainment had announced that they were planning to change the group’s name but late on December 15 they had announced that the group will retain their current name and would not change it, they had also share a good announcement of the group’s comeback that was delayed until January 2011. On January 17, 2011, the group had released their comeback teaser with their new members. The said teaser had featured the group who was practicing the choreography, and also some clips of them who are just hanging together. The group had undergo to a 180 degree full chance, pulling out their cute image to have a more powerful hit of hip hop dance style and b-girls concept. It was also revealed that the group will have their comeback alongside with their digital single last 27th of January, 2011 that was entitled, “Back it Up†and was produced by Outsidaz. Two days after, on the 19th of January, their company had revealed that the group will have their 4th member namely Yewon. The said additional member was revealed to fans through “Jewelry Puzzle Game†that had also show a 20 second teaser for their song “Back It Upâ€. It was then known that Yewon was a trainee under the management of Star Empire Entertainment for 4 years and was born in the year 1989. On the 27th of January, 2011, their digital single, back it up was released. The said single had a kind of retro as the genre. The single had reached a certain amount of success, but it was not that successful than their previous single with the former two members, Seo In Young and Park Jung Ah where One More time had topped charts for almost seven consecutive charts. The girl group had ended their promotions on the middle of March 2011 and they had announced that their upcoming comeback will be on the late of April 2011 so watch out for them!
